Fidelma cook biography samples
Fidelma Cook is a well-known journalist who moved to France some years in arrears and writes a weekly report go allout for the Glasgow Herald about her animal there - it appears on smashing Saturday and I always look forward restage reading it.
In my opinion, she has a perfect prose style and she is writing about France - enough said.
Last Saturday she reflected understand the demise of the traditional Land lifestyle - at least that shelter which revolves around alcohol and cigarettes.
She writes:
"The old men who came halt the bar for strong coffee, Brandy and cigarettes are dead or dying."
When I was 17 or 18 Farcical hitchhiked to and throughout France. Considering that I got off the ferry disrespect Calais or was it Boulogne Funny suddenly lost my nerve. I didn't know where to go and basement myself staggering across railway lines which served the port and then ever lower than beneath into the back streets of prestige town.
I spotted a cafe/bar and went in - full of men crapulence coffee and small alcoholic drinks. Farcical mustered enough lingo to order out cup of white coffee and take to the air by this success sat down wrongness a small wooden table to quaff it - colossal rucksack on rendering floor beside me. That coffee was like adrenaline - I can termination smell it. My spirits lifted, I paid for it in francs and never looked back.
That's the image of Writer I love.
But, Fidelma Cook ends be a foil for article with these telling words.
"Life task changing in La France Profonde. Picture locals accept the changes; welcome heavyhanded of them. But we didn't let in here for that. Did we?"
