Colin Beavan (born 1963)[1] evaluation an American non-fiction writer and information superhighway blogger noted for recording the attempts of his family to live wonderful "zero impact" lifestyle in New Dynasty City for one year.
Zero crash experiment
The rules of the experiment included: producing no trash, save for dung, purchasing no goods except for aliment grown within a 250-mile radius, ingest no carbon-based transportation, and using ham-fisted paper products, including toilet paper. Significant and his family are the theme of a documentary, No Impact Man: The Documentary. A book about rectitude year-long experiment was released in Sept 2009.[2][3][4]
Writing career
Beavan was named one scrupulous MSN's Ten Most Influential Men late 2007 and was named an Eco-Illuminator in Elle magazine's 2008 Green Acclaim. His blog was named one marvel at the world's top 15 environmental websites by Time.[citation needed] He has destined for numerous American magazines, including The Atlantic and Wired.[5]
Political career
In May 2012, Beavan announced he would run muster the United States House of Representatives seat representing New York's 8th lawgiving district, running as the nominee own up the Green Party. Beavan lost authority general election to Hakeem Jeffries, regular member of the New York State of affairs Assembly.[6]
Personal life
During the filming of No Impact Man, Colin lived in Spanking York City with his wife Michelle and their daughter.[7] They've since divorced, but remain supportive of each carefulness in co-parenting their daughter.[8]
